A balcony on the 35th floor of 1st Avenue and 34th street was the place where the first live-radio-report to Germany about the 9/11-attack occured. My wife Uschi had called me to come there after seeing flames and smoke coming out of the north tower of the WorldTradeCenter. I reported about that – and a little later about the impact of the second plane into the south tower - to WDR in Cologne, exactly during the so called WDR2-Mittagsmagazin. At that time, I didn´t and couldn´t imagine what took place would change the world!
